dreamlaser designed an audiovisual show with a multitude of special effects and interactive elements for the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) season opener between Dinamo Minsk and Amur Khabarovsk at Minsk Arena.
Our goal for this 7-minute show was to introduce the teams, foster a sense of unity, and energize the fans before the match, as well as to practice various sponsorship integrations.
The visuals combined pre-recorded footage of the teams with animated, interactive elements.
The show began with an engaging segment where ice resurfacing machines collected sponsor-branded 'chips' from Winline bookmaker. This led seamlessly to the musical part when a platform descended from the media cube above the arena, with a pianist performing the Dinamo Minsk song, 'Gray Night' by Yuri Shatunov.
Next came the most dynamic and high-octane segment of the show, boasting a vibrant visual palette and immersive sound design. This part included visuals of a pulse symbolizing the fans' heartbeat, the Dinamo Minsk bison mascot, and an interactive noise meter that responded to the cheers from individual sections and the entire stadium, displaying the volume level. At the end, the players were introduced.
Technically, the show featured ice projections, content displayed on LED screens (the cube, a strip of screens below the cube and around the stadium perimeter), as well as lasers, which were used for both supporting content and a standalone laser show. Beam lights and fog machines added to the atmosphere.
