On March 7, Memory Terminal, a new exhibition by the S E T U P studio has been opened in TSEKH. Focused on the structure of human memory, the exhibition consists of two installations that combine multimedia art with sculptural forms.
Last year, S E T U P put another installation at TSEKH as part of INTERVALS 2023. The festival is headquartered at TSEKH and co-organized by dreamlaser studio. The Memory Terminal exhibition is open in the runup to INTERVALS 2024 scheduled for April 27 – May 1.
Memory Terminal is a space to dialog about the fragility of memories, fleeting present and ephemeral future, guided by digital and sculptural art forms.
The first installation is a diode-screen stele. This giant monument floats above a container of water. The work symbolizes how vulnerable human memory and data in our world are. The sound comes out from under water, the liquid epitomizing the fluidity and instability of memory.
The second installation is like a ruined concrete monument. It is captured in the midst of destruction, as if seizing the transience of memory. The bright lasers make facets on the brutal sculpture.
The exhibition images prompt reflection on the nature of memory, legacy of humanity, brevity of the present and mystery of the future.
The exhibition will last until April 14.
