Dreamlaser created a music video for the band Sirotkin for the track "The Best City on Earth"

The premiere of the video for one of Russia's most successful indie rock bands took place on April 11. The process of creating the video became an important experience for our team: from developing the creative concept, script, storyboard, and character design to technical solutions for certain ideas and post-production. The entire creative process was shared with the band Sirotkin.

In the "ethereal," enveloping sound of the song, soothing guitar chords, staccato keyboards reminiscent of the ringing spring drip, carefree flute, and innocent xylophone melodies intertwine. Against the backdrop of the "iron chorus of machines" and light, gentle indie motifs evoking a languid, bittersweet sense of nostalgia, the artists lead listeners through the streets of the "best city on earth," illuminated by the "cold light of shop windows."

"Initially, the idea was born for a series of short videos, united by the concept that our brightest memories of the city are frozen in time, and we ‘extracted’ them and conveyed them as impressions, scans. We thought it would be a suitable metaphor to show how memory works, as though stopping certain moments forever. During the development process, the short videos merged into a single plot with its own dramaturgy," said the creative director of Dreamlaser, Anton Kolodyazhny.

To create 3D models of the performers and artists, the team traveled to Moscow and literally "scanned" the Sirotkin band and artists, then placed the characters in the space of memories. The music video also featured artist Yaroslav Mogilnikov, known for his role in the series "Slovo Patsana" as Yeralysh. The full production cycle took about six months.

"We found it hard to imagine in advance what kind of beauty and atmosphere would come out, but at each stage of the project, we became more and more inspired: first by the confidence and trust in the team, and when we saw the first screenshots with the music — we realized that this was going to be a ‘wow’ moment! We hope that the audience will appreciate both the music and the visual aspect of our collaboration. And we also hope that this project will be the beginning of a long friendship with Dreamlaser!" added Sergey Sirotkin.
