NONOTAK — visual artist Noemi Schipfer and architect-musician Takami Nakamoto — will present seven installations that have never been shown in Russia before. The exhibitions will take place at the multimedia art spaces created by dreamlaser — TSEH and Cistern х Т-Bank.

The exhibition in Saint Petersburg will serve as a teaser for the INTERVALS 2025 Media Art Festival, organized by our company, which will be held in Nizhny Novgorod this spring.

The concept of the exhibitions is to demonstrate how light shapes our perception and transforms the atmosphere around us. In their spatial audiovisual installations, NONOTAK explore and expand the boundaries of space and time perception.

NONOTAK creates large-scale international projects, including a solo exhibition in Cannes, set design for the film John Wick 4, and a permanent installation in the Tokyo metro. In Russia, the duo participated in the INTERVALS Festival (2021) and the Art of the Future biennale at the Moscow Museum of Modern Art (2022). This year, the artists return to the INTERVALS Festival.

The exhibition LIGHT ISOLATION will run from February 21 to April 13 at TSEH Space (Nizhny Novgorod). It will feature three works by the duo:

  • DUAL — installation with spatial choreography of light and sound, evoking contrasting emotions.
  • ORION V.2 — installation working with spatial depth, turning light into graphic forms while balancing between abstraction and structure.
  • DAYDREAM V.7 — hypnotic work that distorts the perception of space and time.

The exhibition NIGHT EXPANSION will take place from February 28 to May 11 at Cistern х Т-Bank (Saint Petersburg). It will feature four installations:

  • DAYDREAM V.6 — continuation of the work shown at TSEH *, but in this installation, the viewer is merely a spectator, not a participant.
  • EQUINOX — installation exploring the interaction between volumetric light and reflections.
  • HIDDEN SHADOWS V.2 — installation working with optical illusions and affecting the viewer's sense of balance.
  • HIGHWAY — minimalist work with moving light sources, allowing the audience to feel its power and impact on the environment.

The technical realization of the projects is handled by dreamlaser.

Exhibition curator — Anna Gagarina, curator of the INTERVALS Festival and exhibitions at TSEH Space.
