As part of its tradition, dreamlaser has prepared a special projection mapping show for Victory Day. This year, for the first time, Sber’s neural networks — Kandinsky and SymFormer — were used to create the visual content. Artificial intelligence helped “bring to life” historical photographs and generate the musical score. The festive mapping will be displayed on the Kremlin towers in Nizhny Novgorod and Kazan from May 9 to 11.
From May 9 to 11, the Dmitrievskaya Tower of the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin will host a projection telling the story of the Soviet people’s heroism — both on the frontlines and on the home front. It begins with a screen reading “We are proud! 1941–1945. 80 Victory!”, followed by the tower’s facade lighting up in crimson hues, revealing a soldier bravely moving forward. The tower then transforms into an album of wartime photographs and a factory producing military equipment. The show features powerful symbols of Victory and national memory — the St. George ribbon, red carnations, and other important images.
In Nizhny Novgorod, visitors can immerse themselves in the atmosphere of history and watch the projection dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory on May 9 from 8:00 PM to 2:00 AM, and on May 10–11 from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM. The extended schedule ensures that as many residents and guests as possible can experience the solemn and celebratory mood of this important milestone.
In Kazan, from May 9 to 11, a colorful projection will be shown on the Spasskaya Tower of the Kremlin. The show will feature familiar symbols, celebratory messages, and “animated” archival photos set to music. The mapping will run daily from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
The photo animations and music were created using Sber’s Kandinsky and SymFormer neural networks.
Archival photographs used in the project were provided by public cultural institutions — the National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Russian Museum of Photography.
The project was carried out with support from Sber.
