BRICS Summit in Kazan: Mapping on the Local Kremlin and Spasskaya Tower
BRICS Summit in Kazan: Mapping on the Local Kremlin and Spasskaya Tower

The city of Kazan welcomed the BRICS summit on October 22–24. The heads of 24 states arrived in the capital of Tatarstan to take stock of Russia's Chairship in BRICS.

Dreamlaser presented a multimedia show on the walls of the Kazan Kremlin within the extensive cultural program of the event.

Some of the variety of show scenes focused on the summit, others highlighted Kazan's unique heritage and authentic national character.

The performance opened with a piece inspired by the BRICS visual style, covering the Kremlin walls and Spasskaya Tower in blue patterns and geometric designs. The second part took the audience back in time, showing the construction of the first mosque in Volga Bulgaria. A panorama of the mosque was framed by refined national patterns in elegant golden hues.

Next, the spectacular 3D geometry draped the Kremlin wall and Spasskaya Tower in shimmering gold. The ancient walls then transformed into a parchment displaying drawings that narrated the journey of ambassadors to Baghdad and Bulgaria. Returning to the present, the walls displayed welcoming messages in the languages of the BRICS member states.

The show continued with traditional designs and architectural elements from cathedrals, creating a composite image of a mosque in dawn's early light—a symbol of growth and prosperity. In the final scene, the BRICS signature pattern was brought back, getting transformed into a crescent moon as a symbol of Islam, along with greetings in the Russian and Tatar languages that read, 'Welcome'.
