On October 4, dreamlaser, together with the URBAN CONTEXT team and supported by T-Bank, will open a new multimedia space Cistern x T-Bank at the Razin Factory multipurpose complex in St. Petersburg.
The mission of this new media art institution is to support young creators and promote the media industry in the country. The space will host major exhibitions, large-scale media installations, and concerts. The dreamlaser team will curate the event program and oversee the technical equipment at the venue.
The values and ideas of the Cistern will be aligned with those of the TSEH * space by dreamlaser in Nizhny Novgorod. We will keep arranging significant exhibitions and events in St. Petersburg, opening the world of media art to the public.
For more than 20 years, we have been working in the field of multimedia, organizing large-scale media art events, including the INTERVALS festival, exhibitions, and programs of events in the TSEH * space. We see a growing interest in media art and are confident that the new Cistern x T-Bank project, of which we are now part, will be a success.
More information about the inaugural exhibition at Cistern to follow soon.
About the venue:
Cistern x T-Bank is located in the Admiralteysky district of St. Petersburg on the premises of the Razin Factory multipurpose complex. In 1795, this was the site of the Kalinkin Brewery, the first and the largest in the Russian Empire. After the 1917 Revolution, the Petrograd Soviet renamed the factory after Stepan Razin.
The unique feature of this venue is its two-story structure, with a total height of over 12 meters. The levels are connected by openings in the concrete floors left by the huge fermentation tanks or cisterns that once occupied the space. The venue allows for a unique audience experience and can showcase installations and performances specifically adapted to the space. The total area of the venue is 2,000 square meters.
