The City of Light is a major media art festival scheduled between August 1 and September 8 in Zaryadye Park in Moscow as part of the forum and festival called The Territory of the Future. Moscow 2030. The best Russian and international creative technology studios, digital artists, and sound designers from eight countries (Russia, Türkiye, China, Peru, Japan, the Netherlands, Thailand, and Uzbekistan) will present the art code of the capital of the future in their works.

Dreamlaser is preparing three installations:

Layers is a multi-tiered and ever-changing installation that symbolizes the multifaceted nature of culture, its transformation, and its bond to the city of the future. The prefabricated tiers represent different cultural layers that gradually merge into a single whole over time. Light constantly moves around each tier to emphasize its unique form and the role each element plays in the overall multifaceted structure. Viewers can interact with the installation on a tablet, changing the color and configuration of the layers of the structure, as if turning them inside out. This responsiveness of the installation is particularly impressive in contrast to its monumentality: Layers is made of steel and weighs about 20 tons with 240 square meters of LED mesh used to create it.

Antibubble is a visual metaphor for the dialog between the environment and the inner world of the artist who creates the culture of the future. The multimedia installation is dedicated to dialog as a process of searching for new meanings. Antibubble is a special physical phenomenon we used as a visual symbol of this relationship. Antibubbles form when a drop overcomes the surface tension of a liquid and gets submerged into it, resulting in an elaborate formation where the droplet is surrounded by a thin film of gas. This water-borne installation is designed to stay afloat and is illuminated at over 800 lux.

Twist is a fantasy creature that helps everyone find their own contact with art, which is an integral part of the city of the future. Viewers can observe from the outside how this creature breathes and lives in the context in which it finds itself, or they can interact with it by getting inside the installation and jumping on the trampoline. This easy and friendly experience can help everyone find their own contact with art. Projection mapping on a moving surface of an inflatable object is a technically challenging but highly expressive visual technique that fully enlivens its complex form. The illumination of Twist is approximately 350 lux.

In addition, dreamlaser will show animated canvases of great Russian artists in the Ice Cave. As darkness falls, the entrance to the Ice Cave will become a portal to the fascinating world of painting. The audiovisual show will present the audience with a series of grand animated canvases by great Russian artists, from classical geniuses such as Viktor Vasnetsov, Ivan Aivazovsky, and Ivan Shishkin to the legends of Avant-garde, including Wassily Kandinsky and Kazimir Malevich. The modern technology enables each fragment of the this show to let viewers enjoy once again the artistry of the painters known to all of us since childhood and feel the atmosphere of every canvas, fully appreciating their grandeur, scale and beauty. The illumination of the façade of the Ice Cave is 400 lux.

The dreamlaser team will also provide technical support for the following installations: Seasonal Proximities by Cao Yuxi James, Mirora: Unfold by Ahmed Said Kaplan, BEACONS by Sasha Koggio and Alisa Davydova, Media Cube by GENERATIVE GALLERY and others.
